Casa Castillo is a traditional Vejer ‘patio’ house with rooms and staircase to upper floors leading off a traditional courtyard. The ground floor enjoys a magnificent entry through a stone vaulted cobbled hallway. Leading off the stone flagged courtyard are a classic old world kitchen (with modern appliances!), medieval dining room and an underground cellar cave with exposed stone work. The ground floor also boasts a study and a bedroom with adjoining bathroom. The stairs lead up to a spacious hall and a wooden balustrade gallery (overlooking the courtyard) which gives access to a sitting room and two bedrooms each with small bathrooms. The staircase leads to the top floor and the terrace off which is a bedroom and bathroom. The grand roof terrace is divided into two spaces with chairs, sun loungers and a dining table. The terrace has stunning panoramic views towards the castle, across the town, towards the pine forests and sierras, over the coast and on a clear day Africa can be seen on the horizon.

Unfortunately the house is not suitable for children under 12 due to open tread staircases and very low parapets on the terraces.

The house is right at the entrance to the Jewish quarter. It is a quiet  pedestrian area, all streets are cobblestones with pots on the doors and views of classic Andalucian patios. Neighbours are generally older and friendly who like to chat with visitors.

There is street  parking 100m. from the house although sometimes a little further. You can stop your car to unload suitcases or purchases just 50m. away. Be aware that  most streets in the old town are narrow and sometimes difficult to navigate by car.
